This car was first introduced in 1995 as a four door saloon and a three or five door hatchback, almost immediately becoming one of the most popular cars in its class. This was due to its outstanding performance and a rather cheap price, not to mention Japanese precision. Even today a used Nissan Almera is a popular choice among all those who want to buy a powerful car for a reasonable price. A used Nissan Almera is equipped with a powerful 1,6 litre four cylinder sixteen valve inline engine that produces 175 horsepower and additionally featuring a variable valve timing system to enhance performance. All that power is transmitted to the front wheels by a five speed manual gearbox (there is no automatic box available), and the suspension consists of the MacPherson struts at the front and a multi link beam axle at the rear. Worth mentioning is the fact that a used Nissan Almera is a machine with lowered center of gravity due to stiffing and lowering of the suspension, which made the car significantly more stable and radically improved its handling. For a real speed maniacs there is a used Nissan Almera version that has a 2,0 litre engine producing 200 horsepower and its weight was reduced to make the car even faster.
